Possible Online Racing License for Illinois Article

It seems Illinois citizens may be able to bet on horse racing online as early as this week. The Illinois racing board is considering three companies to have state licenses for handling the online betting. Though likely illegal, the sites are already in use but not yet regulated which shows the infrastructure is already in place.

As many know, betting at horse tracks has dramatically declined and it is believed that most patrons are now more interested in gambling online. Or course the opponents of online betting have the same opinion of horse betting online as online casinos and poker rooms, that it would increase the risk of gambling addiction.
